Hello
Welcome to 1999 gaming… No, this site has not been running since 1999.
The idea behind this site is to celebrate computer games and hardware from the 20th century.
How it all started…
When the Raspberry Pi came out it caught my attention and I followed it’s growth over the years. Version 3 got me thinking you could probably play games on this now… By the time the 4th versions hit it was quite a capable machine to game on.
As far as I can work out the Raspberry Pi 4 is almost as powerful as a gaming PC from about 1999. Hence the name. This is not quite the case I believe as it may be lacking a bit on the GPU side of things.
Though the Pi is far from the only little computer around today, and seems to be a new one almost every week.
What to expect here.
So here we aim to take a look at these new Single Board Computers (SBCs) and see how well they game. As well as looking at gaming on current and legacy hardware. Getting old software running or finding alternatives.
One of our goals is to highlight great games that will run on these low power devices and encourage people to create new content for them.
To start with there is the form were I’ll be posting related stuff. Your welcome to have a read and join in if you like what you see.
